Memory is the process of taking information from events and experiences around us, processing it, storing it, and recalling the information when required.
Step 1: Identify the Impact of Your Memory
The first step is to determine where you live: Are you living in the past, the present, the future, or even in oblivion?
This step will help you identify the impact of your active conscious memory on your present life.We all have beautiful, unpleasant, and inspiring memories. The core skill lies in your ability to use these events and memories to drive newness, enabling you to learn, unlearn, and relearn.
Step 2: Identify the Patterns Locked In Your Mind
The next important step is identifying patterns and sequences from events that are locked in your mind.
Trace the sources of these patterns and sequences.
If they are positive and appropriate, determine how to ensure they are repeated and transferred to your spouse or children.
If they are negative, determine how to end the pattern.
You might also need to assign new and more enlightened meanings to past events that still hold you in uncomfortable states. With age and wisdom, you can give these events a fresh perspective and ignite new feelings.
What Is Your Memory Doing to You and Your Future?
The key to using your memory deliberately is to locate and intentionally influence the impact of your active memory on your current and future life. Dealing with lingering memories of the past can be incredibly liberating and offer you the opportunity for a fresh start.
