Midlife Purple Spirituality 5

Last time, we looked at what it costs to hold on to your source when life turns difficult. This time, let us look at what comes after you have actually found it, because arriving at Purple Spirituality was never meant to be where the quest ends.

Sit with this question for a moment. Say you attain everything this series has pointed you toward. Your own tested faith, your own hard-won testimonials, your own royal connection to your source, your own erudite understanding of your calling. And you keep the whole of it entirely to yourself. Would you have truly finished what you were sent to do?

Midlife is not only a season for discovering who you are before your source. It is also, quietly, a season of transfer. Whether you have noticed it or not, you now stand at the exact point in life where the generation coming up behind you is watching what you do with what you have found. Your children, the younger ones you work beside, the people in your life who have not yet begun asking these questions themselves, they are learning far more from the pattern you actually live than from anything you tell them.

What you carry silently, someone else inherits loudly, one way or another.

A Purple Spirituality that stays entirely private, that never becomes generous, risks becoming nothing more than a private comfort instead of the eternal transfer it was always meant to be.  So as you move from finding your source to actually living out your calling, a few things matter. Speak your testimony to someone younger than you, even if the first telling of it is clumsy. Let your rituals be visible, not so that you are seen, but so someone else quietly learns that a royal connection like this is possible for them too.

Find one person to genuinely disciple, because none of this quest was ever meant to end with you alone. Build the kind of household and daily culture that finally breaks whatever corrupted pattern you inherited, so that the pattern truly ends in your generation instead of traveling further down the line. Keep some record, written or spoken, of what your source has walked you through, so that it outlives the season you happen to be in now. And remain teachable, because handing down what you carry is not a finish line where you now only instruct others. It is closer to a relay, where you keep questing even as you pass the torch to the next runner.

None of what you have found was ever meant to be kept for yourself alone. It is a torch, not a possession. In the end, how deeply you connected to your source may show up less in how erudite or fulfilled you feel, and more in who else is walking a little more freely because you went first. You are not only the architect of your own life and faith. You are the architect of someone else's beginning.  We will keep bringing you honest reflections on what it means to live a midlife full of encounters with your source. We can offer you the road, but the walking of it has always been yours to do.

As you continue your quest for Purple Spirituality, will you leave room for someone else to inherit what you have found?
